Joining the Coast Guard is a wonderful opportunity for your child to serve our country.

Our young Coast Guard men and women are asked to save lives and protect America's coastline and waterways. As a Coastie, your child will grow and mature in ways you never thought possible.

He or she will learn new skills. Coasties may be trained in any of our 20 ratings (jobs). Your son or daughter could end up serving as an operations specialist patrolling off the California coast. Maybe he or she may be an electronics technician responsible for the installation and repair of a weapons system on a massive cutter.

Perhaps she'll save a fisherman in rough seas. Or maybe he'll provide healthcare services on a Coast Guard sickbay.

But, no matter in which field your child trains and operates, he or she will be READY for anything. Coasties are trained to be at their best when things are at their worst. They know that lives depend on them doing their jobs right. No excuses.
